We start with the kind of married banter you can only have when you know each other too well, then we turn toward something bigger: what it means to show up for people’s mental health in a way that is real, affordable, and grounded in lived experience. Along the way, we celebrate major milestones like an Evergreen Award for our contribution to the mental health space and exciting book news, but we also say the quiet part out loud about being taken advantage of and why boundaries are a form of self-respect.

We get into the everyday stuff too because life is not lived in neat categories. One minute we’re explaining “whittling” and laughing about pet peeves, and the next we’re talking about surgery recovery, injections, and how vulnerable it feels to manage pain while still trying to keep a household running. That mix matters, because mental wellness is not just theory. It’s the daily choices, the honesty with your partner, and the courage to admit when something is not okay.

The heart of the conversation is our peer-to-peer support directory and why peer support can be a game-changer for trauma recovery, domestic violence survivors, and anyone who needs judgement-free listening without the $150-an-hour barrier. We talk about why healing is not a competition, why empathy hits differently when someone has truly been there, and why men especially deserve spaces where they can speak without shame. We also touch on safety and responsibility, from family bonding at the range to firearm training, holster retention, and thinking beyond just “shooting dots on a target.”

If you’ve been looking for mental health support that feels human, practical, and accessible, listen now, then subscribe, share the show with someone who needs it, and leave a review with what you want us to tackle next.

Welcome And Married-Host Chaos

SPEAKER_02

Good evening. Let me see if I can do it right. Good evening, y'all, and welcome to another episode of a Contagious Smile Unstoppable. I am the redneck Michael, and sitting beside me is my wife Victoria. How did I do?

SPEAKER_01

You're a dork.

SPEAKER_02

That's not nice. I have feelings.

SPEAKER_01

Where?

SPEAKER_02

Well, they're all robotic, but they're there.

SPEAKER_01

I have feelings too. One.

SPEAKER_02

No, that's a nerve.

SPEAKER_01

And your daughter gets on my nerve.

SPEAKER_02

Now she's my daughter.

SPEAKER_01

She is your daughter when she gets on my damn nerve.

SPEAKER_02

No, she will always be mine. So my husband's like, You never open this podcast. You need to open it. So there you have it, cornflake. Was it good? Did it work for you?

SPEAKER_01

Yes.

SPEAKER_02

Okay. Yippie Kaye. Now, how you doing? You see this? I'm telling you what.

SPEAKER_01

My wife is beautiful with her black hair. Well, it's more like maroon dark.

SPEAKER_02

Like a cherry. Black cherry.

SPEAKER_01

She's converting it from red to black.

SPEAKER_02

And everybody's going, whoa! Why?

SPEAKER_01

And she looks simply amazing. Her little green eyes pop out. Hey, have y'all been over to Amazon lately and picked up one of her books? Oh dear, Lord in heaven. I think she's written like 70-something books, man. They're not all on Amazon. No, but a lot more.

SPEAKER_02

Okay, he's getting on his gripe soapbox.

SPEAKER_01

No, I'm not. What's on the agenda?

Awards And Best Seller Updates

SPEAKER_02

We are talking about all the new stuff we've got coming on and going on and doing and and all that fun stuff. We just got another award. We got an Evergreen Award for our contribution into the mental health realm, which is awesome. That's our third Evergreen. And now 14 awards.

SPEAKER_01

That's amazing.

SPEAKER_02

And found out today that one of the books that I did is now on the best seller list for Amazon. And now that makes my third bestseller.

SPEAKER_01

And that's proven. Why did Michael say it's that proven?

SPEAKER_02

Because I'm gonna sip my tea.

SPEAKER_01

I'm not gonna say the interrogatory.

SPEAKER_02

And listen to you whine.

SPEAKER_01

No.

SPEAKER_02

It's my tea.

When Kindness Gets Exploited

SPEAKER_01

Those assholes out there that have taken advantage of my wife.

SPEAKER_02

You've been taking advantage of too.

SPEAKER_01

I'm talking about as of recently. Okay. My wife does nothing but bend over backwards to help folks and even with a metal back. She gets used.

SPEAKER_02

I can't do that.

SPEAKER_01

And y'all Karmer's gonna get you. That's all we gotta say. You know who you are, you piece of shit.

SPEAKER_02

Wow.

SPEAKER_01

I'm quite honest. Right? You come up with a sob story, you manipulate people, and you're a fraud. That's all it is. You're a lion. Fraud. I'm trying to be very nice. So that's it. That's all I gotta say about that. You know who you are. What do you do with people like that?

SPEAKER_02

What do they say in the South? Bless their heart. Or bless their thumping gizzard. I've never understood that. Bless their thumping gizzard. I don't know what that means.

SPEAKER_01

It means you feel sorry for them.

SPEAKER_02

That's like bless their heart, right?

SPEAKER_01

Like bless their thumping gizzard.

SPEAKER_02

Is it kind of like I'm gonna let you meet your maker a little sooner? I'm gonna help arrange the meeting.

SPEAKER_01

No, we advocate against violence. No.

SPEAKER_02

I'm just saying because I hear that slogan all the time.

SPEAKER_01

No, that is violent.

SPEAKER_02

That's a violence link. Yes.

What Whittling Actually Means

SPEAKER_02

So I need to ask you, what the hell is Whittle?

SPEAKER_01

Whittle.

SPEAKER_02

Whittle. So because he said to me the other day, I'm whittling. And I thought he said, Little. Not I am deaf 100% in one ear and like 88% in the other. And he said I was whittling. And I thought he said he was littling. And I'm like, littling what? Or literally. And I read his lips and I hear him, but sometimes, you know, he does have an accent. And I'm like, what? What the hell is whi whittling whittling? What is what?

SPEAKER_01

Whittling.

SPEAKER_02

You know, we even asked A-L-E-X-A, and she said she has no don't get her started. She even said she had no idea what you were trying to pronounce.

SPEAKER_01

So I have been in need of a back scratcher for a while. I have no clue where that. So I decided to go get me a piece of hickory and a piece of hickory and whittle me a back scratcher.

SPEAKER_02

Oh dear Lord in heaven.

SPEAKER_01

So I was out on the front porch whittling me this back scratcher, and my wife's looking at me on camera. What is he doing other than making a huge mess?

SPEAKER_02

But she still hasn't cleaned up. I'm looking at it right now. You s you still haven't even cleaned it up. You still haven't cleaned it up.

SPEAKER_01

It's on my agenda.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah. Okay.

SPEAKER_01

So yeah. So whittling is just hand-carving a piece of wood with a knife. You you will something out of a piece of wood. Most time uh it's a figurine, it could be a pipe, it could be whatever. A shilly. A what? A shilleley. Close your mouth.

SPEAKER_02

What is that?

SPEAKER_01

A shilleley?

SPEAKER_02

Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

It's a walking cable with a big knot on the end of it.

SPEAKER_02

Use the like a pogo stick.

SPEAKER_01

No, you used to bash things in the head with.

SPEAKER_02

Like a pogo stick.

SPEAKER_01

No. A pogo stick. Shut up. It's something you jump on.

SPEAKER_02

Like your pogo stick. Shut up.

SPEAKER_01

Woman.

SPEAKER_02

Okay, so then answer me this.

Household Hygiene And Pet Peeves

SPEAKER_02

Why is it my husband has my husband has this thing he does. Why do you like that? Wow, the hand's like, what? Let's not get intimate. Okay. No, no, no, no. I'm talking about like, why is it my husband has this huge pet peeve? He just spit his Louisiana teeth. No, you like you have this big pet peeve about cutting toenails in bed. He cannot depend it.

SPEAKER_01

Who wants to sleep in a bed full of toenails?

SPEAKER_02

You don't, you put like a Kleenex, which you know is a tissue, under your feet and you clip, and then you take the clippings and you throw them away.

SPEAKER_01

I have never used a pair of toenail clippers and had that bitch fall directly below my foot. Well, it's because your feet are like the size of ski slopes. It goes 90 miles an hour in left field, right field, air ball. It they go everywhere.

SPEAKER_02

So why do you go out on the front porch with the floor?

SPEAKER_01

Because just for that reason.

SPEAKER_02

Your finger toes.

SPEAKER_01

Oh, you're an ass.

SPEAKER_02

You're whittling your toes. Like seriously. Like I don't under I don't understand that.

SPEAKER_01

Like you don't spit in the kitchen sink.

SPEAKER_02

No.

SPEAKER_01

Do you pee in the shower? It of course. Who doesn't pee in the shower?

SPEAKER_02

My God. Do you seriously? Yes. You nasty son of a are you kidding me?

SPEAKER_01

Who doesn't pee in the shower? You no. I know a little girl in the room next door here took a shit one day.

SPEAKER_02

You took a shit in the bathroom of Chick-fil-A and left your drawers. Babe, I don't piss in the shower. That's ew.

SPEAKER_01

Everyone pisses in the shower.

SPEAKER_02

I don't piss in the shower.

SPEAKER_01

Well, you need to.

SPEAKER_02

What is the point in pissing in the shower when there's a toilet right there?

SPEAKER_01

So you go to the bathroom first, then get in the shower.

SPEAKER_02

You shit before you get in the shower.

SPEAKER_01

Well, that's because the sh my shit can't fit down the hole, the drain.

SPEAKER_02

Oh my god, in our forever home, we're getting two separate his and her bathrooms.

SPEAKER_01

We're gonna be showering together anyway.

SPEAKER_02

Uh-uh, not if you're pissing in that. Oh my god.

SPEAKER_01

You can have your first golden Hell no.

SPEAKER_02

I'm not that bitch. That is disgusting.

SPEAKER_01

I mean, see Why didn't you ask that question?

SPEAKER_02

Because I don't understand how you could think cutting your toenails in bed under a tissue is disgusting.

SPEAKER_01

It is.

SPEAKER_02

But then you pee in the shower.

SPEAKER_01

But it goes down the drain, the water washes the.

SPEAKER_02

But the acidic leftover gets all over the floor of the tu the tub.

SPEAKER_01

That's why I scrub out the tub.

SPEAKER_02

You don't scrub it that often.

SPEAKER_01

Often enough.

SPEAKER_02

I have an open incisions in my back. And I'm getting in there and you just pissed in the tub.

SPEAKER_01

I think urine is sterile.

SPEAKER_02

I don't know. You've you drank your own urine? Oh my god. Are you serious? Everyone's I've never tasted my own urine.

SPEAKER_01

Well, there's something you put on your bucket list.

SPEAKER_02

No, thank you. Why would I want to taste my own pee?

SPEAKER_01

You've never been that curious as a kid.

SPEAKER_02

No.

SPEAKER_01

Well, we're gonna get some hate mail for this, I think.

SPEAKER_02

Like, we we we need to pee pee.

SPEAKER_01

Like, okay, but your husband is nasty.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah. Well, we know some of the nastiness that's been You put a dog treat in my mouth the other day. Well, your mom ate dog treats. We have a video of it.

SPEAKER_01

Oh yeah.

SPEAKER_02

Like she actually snacked on those bad boys. You piss in the shower?

SPEAKER_01

We've established this. We can move on.

SPEAKER_02

Do you pee standing up all the time or do you also piss sitting down?

SPEAKER_01

Oh yeah. When I first wake up in the morning, I can't see. I'm disoriented. I go sit down like a woman. I'm not peeing and have the shit go all over the wall, the back side of the toilet, and a mess for me to clean up. So first thing in the morning I go see Do you brush your teeth in the shower? No. Who the hell does that? That is so weird. That's weird. That is weird. How can you brush your teeth in the shower? How can you piss in the shower? Well, just you just let it flow.

SPEAKER_02

What about when it's that time of the month?

SPEAKER_01

Let it go. Let it flow. What?

SPEAKER_02

What about when it's that time of the month and it flow is there?

SPEAKER_01

Well, you know, for me, uh, you know, that time of the month doesn't do anything for me.

SPEAKER_02

No, you just get your bat wings.

SPEAKER_01

Oh.

SPEAKER_02

Not for me. I don't have it anymore. That's so nasty. That is so I'm oh my god. And you know what? I'll be honest and say that there are so many times when I take a shower that when I'm done, I take that long handle thing and I clean the shower because I can't hold my balance as an amputee and clean the tub. So I clean it while I'm in there, naked as the day I came into this world, and I scrub the tub in the shower when I'm done, and I don't pay in there. But I mean, it's like if I had surgery and I have an open store or my infection, you know, when I had the infection from surgery, and I don't want it, y'all to, you know, if we have multiple bathrooms, and I don't understand, but I'm always like trying to be respectful. So I clean the tub in the shower, and you're just pissing in it and walking out of it.

SPEAKER_01

Babe, I've told you a long time ago, if you don't want to know an answer to a question, don't ask me. Because I'm gonna be honest with you and tell you.

SPEAKER_02

Did we drink somebody else's pee before?

SPEAKER_01

Yes.

SPEAKER_02

Oh my god, help me.

SPEAKER_01

Don't ask me why don't you think about the question before you ask me and think if I ask him this, he's probably gonna say yes. I don't want to really know, so forget it. Move on.

Surgery Aftermath And Shot Day

SPEAKER_02

I'm feeling some kind of not so healthy way right now.

SPEAKER_01

You want another pill for nauseas?

SPEAKER_02

The only pill I take is Zofran for nausea. That's it. And today they made me into a pen cushion because I still have this stupid reaction from my surgery, the spinal surgery. So I had to go get another steroid injection, the prednisone, which they put in my butt, and they were like, hey, we can't put it on the right side because that's where your device is. So we have to stick it in the left, and you're gonna be a little sore. Okay, great, thanks. And then they did all the lab draws, and then I have to do my GLP, and so I feel a little like a pincushion today. But oh my god, babe. Yes, like I now know that that song, you know, like don't put banana in my butt, don't put marshmallow in my butt. That was created for you.

SPEAKER_01

I thought it was for don't.

SPEAKER_02

Don't I cannot okay? Have you ever you know what?

Unusual Questions And Alexa Rabbit Holes

SPEAKER_02

I can't I can ask this because it wasn't with me. Did you ever have sex in a graveyard?

SPEAKER_01

Probably.

SPEAKER_02

What do you mean probably?

SPEAKER_01

Uh it's so long ago, probably.

SPEAKER_02

Where's the most unusual place you ever had sex?

SPEAKER_01

Elevator inside of a mall?

SPEAKER_02

With a janitor while I was outside waiting on you working hours? Slip.

SPEAKER_01

Well, what did McJagger say? Loving in the elevator.

SPEAKER_02

That's not McJagger, that's Aerosmith. And the words to that song is Loving in an Elevator, Lingerie, second floor, come on, I'm gonna love you a little more. Jackie's in the elevator. Now, I know you know someone by that name somewhere in your past, but that is how the song starts. And you're pretty good. And it's Aerosmith that sings that song, not Mick Jagger.

SPEAKER_01

Oh yeah, but Steven's got big lips.

SPEAKER_02

Oh my god, pogo stick. Like, seriously? Okay, I I can't. Okay, second most unusual place you ever had sex.

SPEAKER_01

No, what we're not doing this. This is fun! This is unstoppable. This is not. You gotta answer the question. Dr. Phil, this is not Dr. Ruth.

SPEAKER_02

She do you know she actually was a sniper? So I heard she was a sniper.

SPEAKER_01

Now, tell sniper in the military? Uh-huh. Interesting.

SPEAKER_02

Alexa, was Dr. Ruth a sniper in her time in the military?

SPEAKER_00

Yes. She was trained as a Haganah sniper in her youth. A what?

SPEAKER_01

Haganah?

SPEAKER_00

Haganah.

SPEAKER_01

She's German.

SPEAKER_00

A Haganah? See? A Haganah was the underground Zionist militia in Palestine from 1920 to 1940.

SPEAKER_01

Okay, stop, Alexis.

SPEAKER_02

Alexis, stop. See? All this unusual is not necessary knowledge that I have just floating around in my brain.

SPEAKER_01

Then stop asking so many questions.

SPEAKER_02

I don't ask that's how you learn.

SPEAKER_01

Okay, well, what did you learn about your husband today?

SPEAKER_02

You're a dirty, nasty slut who probably pissed in the shower because that's the only time you had long enough to go from woman A to woman Z.

SPEAKER_01

Now we're bringing up my past.

SPEAKER_02

No. Hey. Okay, we're not bringing up your past. True or false? You never drank my pea. True. I never gave you a golden shower. True. So it wasn't from me. So it was from somebody else. So that's not me, flesh of thumping gizzard. Hey.

SPEAKER_01

You just had to go there.

SPEAKER_02

I did. You hear my girl? Watch your head. You're don't hurt my boy. Stucco is laying here.

SPEAKER_01

No, we have Rusty, Stucco, Amber and River all that here. Unstoppable show.

SPEAKER_02

Well, we're talking about the nasty habits of men.

SPEAKER_01

And like your dog doesn't need his own shit. And then licks you.

SPEAKER_02

Uh they lick you.

SPEAKER_01

Baby. I give him a toothbrush.

SPEAKER_02

Do you want to talk about all that you've had licked?

SPEAKER_01

Or by who? Let's talk about something else.

SPEAKER_02

Uh-huh. Go ahead. I'm listening.

SPEAKER_01

Let's

New Website And Merch Plans

SPEAKER_01

see. You got a new website coming up?

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, it's for you. See you get. It's all about you. Next.

SPEAKER_01

Are you serious?

unknown

Next.

SPEAKER_01

Y'all, my wife has created a beautiful, just absolutely stunning website for adjectives. For our clothing apparel. And it will be ready here soon.

SPEAKER_02

It's not only clothing apparel.

SPEAKER_01

No.

SPEAKER_02

No.

SPEAKER_01

But that's a good start.

SPEAKER_02

It's keepsakes, key rings, engraving, yada, yada, yada.

SPEAKER_01

And if y'all know anything about my wife, she's overachiever.

SPEAKER_02

Sounds like Carson. She says that about faith.

SPEAKER_01

Oh yeah? Well, pay me.

SPEAKER_02

What are you talking about?

SPEAKER_01

Don't you get paid for doing a spotlight on somebody? Cameo? If they paid. Not like you paid Carson because y'all are buddy buddies.

SPEAKER_02

No, I have his private email. I have his email. Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

But uh I'm on Cameo and he is- I think my wife is up to like 12 pages on this website for you? Website.

SPEAKER_02

21.

SPEAKER_01

21.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, you were sleeping nap two today when I got to 21.

SPEAKER_01

Uh, I did a lot of work today and out in the yard.

SPEAKER_02

I love when you make me laugh. It's so therapeutic. Wait, let me wait. Make me laugh? I'm waiting.

SPEAKER_01

I'm handsome.

SPEAKER_02

That's not funny. It's accurate.

SPEAKER_01

Oh, shut up. It is not.

SPEAKER_02

You are. You are a hot, hot, hot dude.

SPEAKER_01

So what else we got going on? What is it? Got anything else going on?

SPEAKER_02

I'm working. I'm working, working, working, working, working. Like I work.

SPEAKER_01

Oh.

Peer-To-Peer Support Explained Simply

SPEAKER_01

Y'all, she has this this this peer-to-peer support. It's absolutely wonderful. Check it out. How can they find it?

SPEAKER_02

Oh, I can tell smile.com.

SPEAKER_01

And it's in the top tab.

SPEAKER_02

It's in the menu, and you can go to the peer-to-peer directory. And we're even giving you free consultations with some of like the best. And if you would like to join us, there is a place for you to apply.

SPEAKER_01

So what is peer-to-peer?

SPEAKER_02

Okay, peer-to-peer, even though some of us are not, I am not a licensed clinical social worker, but we do have one on staff. We have also we have other therapists, we have other people who are in the field, we have somebody going through for their doctorate. We do have a doctor on there. Anyway, so there are people who are not doing therapy in regards to like a psychiatrist or psychologist. They're not psychiatrists or psychologists. They are people who resonate with life experiences because they've been through them themselves. And now they're helping others navigate through the healing process. And they all offer something uniquely different. They're amazing. And they're, I mean, like you can go on and meet with every single one of them free and get to know them and find out which one's best for you. And they're at a fraction of the cost. We also offer sliding scale to help. And it's because like I went through this whole thing by myself and I never want anyone else to do it. And nobody has the money to pay $150 for an hour. And then what I don't like is, and I'm not taking away or discrediting anybody who's gone through the training because I've done a lot of that training. But if you asked me, Victoria, would you rather meet with somebody who has legitimately lived through those experiences, or would you want to re-go to somebody who has gone through the education? A hundred out of a hundred, I want to go through somebody who you know can empathize and understand the process. Because when you've gone through this, I bet you I can't even tell you how many people I have worked with over all these years. But when you get to talk to somebody who understands, there's more of a trust, there's more of an opening, there's more of an understanding, there's more compassion, there's more of a comfortability for you to tell your truth, you to tell your, you know, your side. And that to me is so important because it's already uncomfortable to go to someone you have no idea who they are, and to say, I went through XYZ. And a lot of times, and I I don't, you know, discount therapy. I've been on a therapist couch for 40 years. And the thing is that, and I love the person who who has helped me, but they also couldn't understand at certain levels what I went through and endured. So to have someone say, I didn't go through that exactly, but I understand and can listen and just value you and understand how hard it is to tell your story and to be there as support is huge. I mean, it is huge. And I tell people all the time, I can't tell you how many people have said to me, you know, the thing is that I'm very timid about coming to you particularly to talk to because I know your story, I've read your story, I've heard your story, you know, meet you every day, yada, yada, yada. And the very first thing I say, like clockwork, it's not a competition. It's one kick, one hit, one punch is one too many. No one has the right to put their hands on you in an unwarranted manner. I don't care if you're male, female, trans, I don't care what you identify as, but you do not deserve to have hands on you in an unwarranted manner, period. It's just not okay. And so when people come to me and they're like, oh my God, I went through this and I, you know, he only hit me once or twice. And so I really don't feel comfortable talking to you. Don't know, don't look at me and say, you know, I don't want to talk to you because you've only been through, you know, whatever, and I've been through whatever. It's not a competition, you know, it's like hair, the perfect analogy for it. Hair. You can cut it all off and it's gonna grow back, right? It's hair. It's like the first time when we were at our make a wish trip, and I had that beautiful three-year-old with lymphoma, and I gave her a pair of scissors and she made me look like G.I. Jane all day long. And I was, and you know, my daughter is like, Oh my god, mom, your hair. I was like, It's hair, it'll grow back, right? So don't and what I'm saying in comparison is like when I had all of a sudden short, short hair, nobody would have known the day before that my hair was down in my thighs, right? So don't compare, it's a horrible analogy now that I'm listening to myself. Don't compare that because at the end of the day, you need someone who understands and can be there and give you compassion and understanding and empathy and and unconditional support. And that's invaluable in your for in your course of healing, and that's what peer-to-peer support is. And I apologize for that whole hair analogy because now that I really think about it, that's really not a great analogy. I'm sleep deprived, so I apologize.

SPEAKER_01

You do that?

SPEAKER_02

No, even though I do have to get up quite early in the morning.

SPEAKER_01

I went in a snuggle with my puppy earlier, and she licked my hand after she ate her shit outside my hair, my face, my ear, and would not let me go to sleep. Try to kick her out.

SPEAKER_02

And she came in here and hugged me so sweetly, like put her head on my shoulder, it was so sweet, and just hugged me. It was the sweetest.

SPEAKER_01

So a contagious smile.com, look at and research peer-to-peer and what Victoria just said it was all about, and then join, you know. A lot of times, a lot of times you want me to make some coffee.

SPEAKER_02

No, I want to go.

SPEAKER_01

Have that horse.

SPEAKER_02

You wouldn't do that for your wife?

SPEAKER_01

I'll do it for my wife.

SPEAKER_02

What a good pogo stick.

SPEAKER_01

Are you serious? Yeah. I hope they didn't hear that.

unknown

Pogo stick.

SPEAKER_01

A lot of times folks just want someone to to talk to, to listen, right?

SPEAKER_02

Without judgment. And people who've it gone through this, they can give you that. They can talk to you without judgment because we have been exactly where you are, right? There's the big difference.

SPEAKER_01

It it's it's hard for us guys to and we have we have that on our panel. And you know, others what we went through. You know, for me personally, it is a stipulation, it is a it is a pride thing. It is something that we have to overcome. You know, a lot of times, in my opinion, and and my experience, we bottle shit up, we hold it in. And that's just the way, you know, we've been dictated all our lives. You're you're a man, you keep it in, you don't cry like a baby, you know. Your feelings, you know, keep them inside. So having a peer-to-peer support where you meet another man that has gone through something similar, you know, hey, this guy can relate. You know, he understands me. Range Time And Family Bonding

SPEAKER_01

you.

SPEAKER_02

And I have to say, before we wrap up the show, because this is not a normal long show today, I want to give a shout out to my daughter who our daughter absolutely yet again outshot you at the range yesterday.

SPEAKER_01

Oh Lord.

SPEAKER_02

Like he said, all right, do a headshot. And boy, did she ever she unloaded and she goes, You didn't say which one? Wow, that is awesome! That's my kid. I mean, she is a hell of a good shot, and I love the fact that she's getting a lot better. She she outshot you.

SPEAKER_01

She did. I I accidentally killed the hostage.

SPEAKER_02

That's that's great. Yeah, that's great.

SPEAKER_01

So why why do I take my daughter to the gun range?

SPEAKER_02

Now she's yours. Or I have it recorded earlier where you said she was mine.

SPEAKER_01

It's it's just something her and I do, like uh movie night every Saturday.

SPEAKER_02

Boy.

SPEAKER_01

So it's bonding time, and I always want her to feel safe around firearms.

SPEAKER_02

Are you gonna tell her how to whittle?

SPEAKER_01

I'll teach her how to whittle. Oh, you bought her a knife.

SPEAKER_02

I did. So she knows how to handle and manage one.

SPEAKER_01

So, you know,

Carry Training And Holster Safety

SPEAKER_01

we believe in gun control. Both my wife and I carry. If you have the proper training, there's nothing wrong with, you know, a legal, non-felinous, non-criminal, non-violent individual carrying a firearm. You know, we were at the restaurant tonight, and and a fella walked in, and and when he sat down at the bar, his shirt peeked up and I saw the butt of a holster. You know, yes, he's sitting at the bar, but he wasn't drinking alcohol. You know, there's nothing wrong with that.

SPEAKER_02

Hell, you go into Wally World and you see people carrying their on their overalls and stuff.

SPEAKER_01

What gets me is these these ignoramuses. What? Ignoramuses.

SPEAKER_02

What is an ignoramus?

SPEAKER_01

You know, it's one of them people you look at, shake head, say, bless this thump of gizzard.

SPEAKER_02

Oh, now you can say it.

SPEAKER_01

Goes into Walmart, open carry in a level one holster. Okay, some people might not know what a level one holster is. A level one holster has absolutely no safety retention. Right. I mean, you might as well be walking around with a paper bag hooked to the side of your belt. No, that'd probably run in there.

SPEAKER_02

Or just carrying it, really.

SPEAKER_01

Right? Anyone can come up and grab your firearm with absolutely no resistance, okay? Like I did, I did mention a legal, competent individual who's had training. Okay, train yourself to handle your firearm correctly, right? That doesn't mean just shooting dots on a target. This doesn't mean having a three-inch grouping. It means weapon retention also. It means safety, it means indexing. All of this. You're so hot. It means looking down range at your target. What's behind my target? If I miss, if I fart while I'm getting ready to pull the trigger. Right. The minions what happens if my bullet goes through the target? Right? What is downrange? What is behind? Is there kids? Is there home? So get the proper training if you're gonna carry and don't be dumb. Can I say that? You already get it. Okay, don't be ignorant. Okay, at least get a level two. You know, a level three is is absolutely the best, but uh at least a level two, a level two holster has some kind of locking feature to where you have to manipulate And what about for us amputees who couldn't unlock? That's why you have careful.

SPEAKER_02

I can't wait to hear what you said.

SPEAKER_01

Great husbands like me that protect me.

SPEAKER_02

You're not always with me.

SPEAKER_01

And I carry your purse.

SPEAKER_02

But you're not always with me.

SPEAKER_01

That's that's right.

SPEAKER_02

So then what do you say?

SPEAKER_01

But you're a badass martial artist already.

SPEAKER_02

Well, thank you.

SPEAKER_01

But I mean how many black belt you got? 18?

SPEAKER_02

Where the hell did not even Bruce Lee has 18? I have two. Not even, I don't know where you got eighteen.

SPEAKER_01

Why do you have two? What isn't one enough?

SPEAKER_02

No, it's degrees. Well then just have one black belt with with And then I went and studied a different form, the martial arts, and then I got really big into the weapons, like throwing stars, which I love, and nunchucks, which is a little challenging now.

SPEAKER_01

You throw nunchucks?

SPEAKER_02

You are less your thumb fingers.

SPEAKER_01

Take us out now.

Final Laughs And Sign Off

SPEAKER_01

No, I brought us in. Oh lord, y'all. This is a short episode from a contagious smile.

SPEAKER_02

At least we need to get some coffee.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, be sure to check out peer-to-peer support. Did you say pew pew? What? Peer peer. That was three words. Peer to peer.

SPEAKER_02

Oh my lord in heaven.

SPEAKER_01

Peer to peer.

SPEAKER_02

Why can't you talk like that all the time?

SPEAKER_01

Because that's dumb. Who's that's like saying olive oil? Well, when you say that who says olive oil?

SPEAKER_02

Used to say elephant shoe.

SPEAKER_01

It's oil.

SPEAKER_02

You used to say elephant shoe to me all the time.

SPEAKER_01

Elephant shoe?

SPEAKER_02

Yeah. If you say that and mouth it to somebody, it looks like it says I love you.

SPEAKER_01

Well, I love you, elephant shoe.

SPEAKER_02

Okay, pillow step.

SPEAKER_01

Good night, y'all. Here at a contagious smile. Peer to peer.

SPEAKER_02

Oh my god.
